Hearing Protection

At Grayson-Riley Audiology we create custom fit hearing protection plugs for noisy environments (e.g. industrial workers, musicians, ravers!) or those who need a little more quiet (e.g. shift workers).

As a society we are becoming more enlightened regarding the importance of hearing protection. In the past many workers and musicians’ neglected hearing protection and now suffer with high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus.

It’s important to realize that not all earplugs are the same! For musicians in particular, it is important that all frequencies are attenuated evenly. We provide musicians earplugs with filters from etymotic research, so you can be confident you are hearing what you need, while protecting your hearing.

Musicians Plugs

Musician ear plugs attenuate sounds across all frequencies evenly which maintains clarity of the sound while protecting your ears against damaging noise levels. They require custom ear moulds, so an impression of the ear canal is needed. Besides the obvious benefit of protecting your hearing, many people who wear plugs report that they do not feel as fatigued by being exposed to high levels of sound.

Noise Plugs

Noise ear plugs are a great alternative to ear muffs for people in noisy environments. They are useful for general noise reduction where clarity of sound is not an issue and are generally custom-made.

Sonic Valve Earplugs protect your ears from noisy factory environments and other extremely loud sounds. Swimming Plugs

Swimming plugs should be customised and used when swimming to protect your ears from possible ear infections, particularly when using public pools. They are also useful in helping to reduce the formation of small cartilage growths in the ear canal which can form when the ear is exposed to cold water. They’re made of super-soft hydrophobic silicone and are available in a variety of solid, swirled and neon colours. Swimmer Earplugs also provide hearing protection.
