FAQ/General Information

Am I too young for hearing aids?

One of the biggest mistakes you can make when you suspect you are experiencing hearing loss is to put off doing something about it. Many people don’t realise that you HEAR WITH YOUR BRAIN, NOT YOUR EARS, and the longer the ‘hearing’ part of your brain is left unstimulated (as a result of hearing loss), the less effective a hearing aid will be. Further, the longer you leave doing something about your hearing loss the more stimulating social conversations, board room debates and great music you will only half hear in the meantime.

The most effective way to deal hearing loss is to act early and decisively, and seek advice from a quality hearing professional.

Causes of hearing loss

Most often a hearing loss develops gradually and painlessly. Hearing can be damaged by:

  • The natural aging process
  • Exposure to loud or constant noise
  • Inherited medical conditions
  • Illness
  • Traumatic injury
  • Tumors
